More Cocaine!

Ok so I have some catching up to do. I'm not having as much time for this as I thought I would. I guess the most outrageous thing to happen to me recently is that I had 4 cops, 2 states and 2 counties, taking a break in my store when a guy came walking in with cocaine all over this nose. The cops were nice enough to allow the gentleman to make his purchases before handcuffing him 5 feet in front of me! I'd never been so close to an arrest before, it was exhilarating. The guy denied up and down having snorted anything. It wasn't until one of the cops told him that he was going to arrest him on a federal charge for lying when the tests came back positive, that the guy finally admitted snorting a little cocaine. Apparently a little is enough to take a sample directly from the guys nose to confirm that it was cocaine.

The real victim in this? The cab driver who was transporting the guy from a bar to his house. He had to wait all that time and have his cab searched for more drugs. Poor guy.

Next up, my manager's boss decided to pay a visit to the store the other night. My shift started at 10, and he walked in at 10:15. He immediately began an inspection of our store....which looked like a tornado had hit. I wasn't even on the register yet because second shift was still on, but he was treating me like I was the one to blame for everything looking so badly. He threatened me by telling me he would be back in the morning to make sure I did my job. That night, I spent 2 HOURS cleaning a rolling grill. I never knew that much time could be spent cleaning something that slowly turns hot dogs for an even cook. Long story short, he never came back in and never re-evaluated our store to see how I did. Talk about a waste of my time...

Last night was the kicker. I arrived at 11 and shortly after, watched 6 cops fly by faster than I've seen before with sirens blaring. I later found out that a 65 year old man had his house broken into by 2 guys. They began beating on him and choking him. They told him to go get his money, but I guess they didn't realize he was an ex police chief, because he came back with a gun and killed them both. Interesting discussion for my ethics class today.

About 2 hours later, I was cleaning the cappucino machine when a guy tried to start pumping gas. I finished what I was doing and promptly went and approved his pump. I then looked out to see who was at the pump, and he looked at me and threw his arms in the air. I could tell that he was mad because he thought I hadn't approved his pump. I love how people think that people in service jobs have nothing better to do than to wait on them. I was talking with another customer when the guy in question walks in and gives me a look to kill. I simply smiled back at him and asked him how it was going. That infuriated him and he began to cuss me up one side and down the other and called me an a-hole several times. I just continued smiling at him which was making him madder. Finally, the customer I was talking to, left because of his rude and crude attitude. Before the jerk left, I probably made him hopping mad by smiling and politely saying "Have a nice night!" Man I love making jerks mad. I'm sorry, but I am no man's slave. My purpose on Earth is not to be at your beckon call.

Until next time, hopefully more often, I hope you all have a nice day. Oh, and please remember to be polite to your CSR's, they're people too.
